Harry and I did researched several kennels when we decided to add a second giant to our family. River arrived in August of 1999 and we were thrilled with her outgoing, stable personality.  She did very well in the conformation ring and at the 2000 Giant National she was Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes 2 out of 3 days. She finished with 5 majors and a few singles, going Best of Winners her last 5 times in the ring. She continued her training and in February 2003, River qualified for the third leg of her AKC Companion Dog title, earning the right to put a "CD" behind her name.  In November 2003 she passed her Schutzhund B (BH), a combination obedience and temperament test.  River produced five AKC champions for us out of a total of ten puppies whelped over her career.  Incidentally, those five that finished were the only ones out of the ten to ever see a show ring. River also produced two Search and Rescue dogs, which we feel is an even greater accomplishment for our girl.  We're very proud of River and her offspring!

River started a legacy here at Grande.  She was my heart dog and life will never be the same without her.
